Abysmal (uh-biz-muhl)

Definition: great extent; immeasurable

The black metallic paint on the freshly polished car almost had an abysmal look to the depth. It almost appeared as you could "fall into" the paint it appeared to be so deep.

^^It has been said:^^

Without following "The Ten Commandments", one may well lead an abysmal life while here on Earth, followed, upon ones death, a life eternal in the "bottomless pit"...an abyss known as Hell.

Recapitulation (ree kuh-pich-uh-ley-shuhn)

Definition: summary that repeats

Source: Thesaurus.com

A detailer should recapitulate what was originally planned and what the final outcome was when he/she delivers the vehicle to the client. That way they understand why they paid what they did and what their final expectations should be (ie if something in question could not be removed, etc).

If I may:

Solipsism (sólləp sìzzəm)

Definition: The belief that the only thing somebody can be sure of is that he or she exists, and that true knowledge of anything else is impossible

After perusing the multitude of: "What is the best wax?"; or, "What is the best wax for______?"(fill in the blank) threads on this Forum, as well as others, I've come to the conclusion that, if the truth be told, when broached with the above subject matter, I must remain a solipsist.

To recapitulate:

Hindsight

Definition: The ability to see, after an event; what should have been done

{BTW...The below is just a fictional personal accounting}

Looking back now, I should've realized that, during this latest economic downturn was not the most opportune time to start up a new Detailing Business. It's as if I've squandered away not only my time and efforts, but my life-time savings as well! (What shall I do until a new job opportunity presents itself to provide for my family, I now ponder :( Oh welll...Hindsight is always 20/20.)

Pessimism: an inclination to emphasize adverse aspects, conditions, and possibilities, or to expect the worst possible outcomes.

Being somewhat pessimistic in nature, and, at times, having the advantage of age, I tend to advise others more on the perils of their proposed plans, than of the benefits of said endeavors.
However, playing devil's advocate , has led to isolation from several social groups over the years, as not many enjoy the company of "Debby Downer". ;)

Have a safe holiday weekend!

Happy Easter, or if you celebrate some other event on today, or good day to you if you do not recognize today as being any sort of holiday.

The New Word of the Day: 4/8/12

Resurrection (rez-uh-rek-shun)

Definition: awakening from the dead

Because of my awareness, religious beliefs, not wanting to offend anyone, try to push my beliefs onto anyone, or downplay anyone else's thoughts, ideals, and morals I feel it best to not use this word in a sentence today nor to talk about any events for today.

Hopefully everyone understands and respects the unbiased avenue I have taken, and please rest assured, my normal fatuous mumbo-jumbo will continue tomorrow.

Those were some nice additions FUNX725 and VT!

"New word(s) of the day" for 04.10.2012:

Amnemonic
Definition: Forgetful; remiss

Ad Rem
Definition: Relevant; pertinent

Sometimes there are occasions in life when one must place emphasis on what they determine are more ad rem than others. Accordingly, no justification is needed for what may not be as relevant being put on the back-burner, or incurring what may seem to be an "amnemonic (Senior??)-moment".

PS. Good Luck!! with your job search, Tundra_10.

^^ Thank you FUNX725! The company I work for is a contractor for the nuclear site I work for, therefore that gives me the opportunity to search for jobs all over the world and opens my opportunity tremendously. I am not one who wants to stay in one spot and tread water, and am always looking for vertical movement up the corporate ladder. I saw a internal posting from a couple days ago and figured I would jump on it. The pay is excellent (almost double what I am making now) and I have the credentials for what they are looking for and my supervisor knows all the people that work at the other plant. So in theory and on paper things look good for me, I am crossing my fingers and thank you for your understanding and wishes.

If I get it, maybe one day you and I can PM each other about what I need to look for in a corvette. ;)

3. Rich and sumptuous clothing or equipment
