Suction cup won't stick on the windshield.
My guess is something is wrong with the suction cup. I was experiencing a little colder temps here in Indiana. -

What's the temperature in your area? I had a problem with my radar detector suction mounts recently because its been so cold, I finally got them to stick after the interior was warmed up. -

Wheel soap
I always use dawn on my wheels. I keep a mixture of soap and water in a spray bottle just for wheels and it always works great.- vwfreak

Griot's 6 inch DA with 3 inch pads?
I have used a 3" or 3.5" backing plate with 4" pads on my GG DA and it worked great for me.- vwfreak
