Question on the Griots Orbital Buffer

Ok. I have made my mind after a long consideration and research and I concluded that between the PC 7424XP and the Meguiars Orbital, that the Griots is perhaps the best one out of those two. I already own a Flex and a regular PC 7424, this particular buffer is a gift for my nephew who is...

Wanted: Pro Detailer in Charlotte, NC - Reply to this thread please

Re: Finding a good detail person For a car that sits on the driveway, you shouldn't look for a show-car detailing. It'll be a waste of "extra" money. With that being said, what you want in a nutshell is a good buff to deeply clean the paint and a good sealant to go with it. At a minimum a...

Brand new truck...what do I use?

Ford are notorious for those spots on chrome. I recently worked on a relatively brand new Ford Truck belonging to Avalanche rookie star Matt Duchene. :dblthumb2: Anyway, I don't know what you have, but some good metal polish should work. I used Dodo Juice Need For Speed Wax Cleaner with my PC...

    Headlights - First Thread

Nice job. i'm convinced that the only thing that keeps the clarity longer is to apply a clear coating. There's a great thread that shows the products people are using as well as the technique. I've been doing a research of my own to find a good clear to apply over the headlights once I'm done...

    Cleaner or Polish

I claybar, then polish. Polishing will clean the paint up. If you have the time to spare, I guess you could use a cleaner wax prior to polishing...

Flat Cyan and Tangerine are both killer pads to work with my Flex and just about any compound and polish. Great results every time!

    Too many products

Whatcha got? I started the same way. I bought a lot of products tried them all, and slowly started to settle on the ones I liked the most. The rest, I've given them away. Good products, though, just had too many of them...

Cleaning the interior ceiling (or roof)?

Try using a soft brush first. Nothing else. Help it by vaccuming afterwards You'll be surprised how just brusing it out first will clean up the headliner. After that, assess the condition and see what you have left to work with. Now, you can use the recommended "wet" method mentioned above if...

    Before I buy the Flex.

I've already had a PC by the time the Flex came out. I decided to buy the Flex, and it has been a great decision that has paid big dividends for me. It's my work horse now. As for applying glazes and sealants, I use my PC for that, others do it by hand, I just like working the product into the...

Can someone define what a glaze is?

Glaze IMO is mainly to be used on show cars. It does amp the the wet looks of the finish but is also a short-lived effect. You're right, a glaze may interfere with the bonding of a sealant. It's better to use the glaze under a carnauba wax, though there are a couple of synthetic polimer type...
