There are lots of things to try before a dye or paint. Try a plastic polish and then seal with either UTTG or WETS. I normally get months of durability. I use OG Plastic Polish but I understand that PlastX may work well too.

I typicially use a 4" red B&S flat pad. It's easier to apply to the thin sections along the bumpers. I can pull the pad off the DA and get the really tight spots. I apply 1 coat of LSPs by overlapping both vertically and perpendicularly to ensure maximized coverage so I take my time anyway...

Until they are a thin ragged piece of fabric, there are lots of uses for the old MF. They are better than a paper towel when wiping up the oily spot on the floor.
