    High Beam Lights

I find I have to shine a light at a specific angle to see if there are any spots on the windows. I shine the light almost parallel with the glass surface. That is to say at a very shallow angle. The best flashlight I have is an XM-L2 CREE based LED flashlight that uses an 18650 battery. The...

Which has the best foam? Maxi Suds vs Honey Dew vs Extreme Bodywash

Yes using less product makes less foam and using more makes more. Also if you have hard water you need more product to make the same amount of foam compared to cleaner water. So rather than use more product you can get one of those water filters (they sell some on Autogeek) if hard water is a...

    best way to attack this?

I've found over the years that killer tomatoes are very popular for attacking things in general. For example do you know anyone that hasn't heard the phrase "Attack....of the killer tomaaaatooes!" Probably not right? If so, I really don't want to know about it. Back to detailing. one thing we...

Did a little bumper repair in my new shop.

Looks great Dave! Question: Did you use adhesion promoter between the plastic and primer? I hear you need to or the paint will fall off. Maybe not needed if you still have some paint on the bumper though?

Help : What the heck happened here?

No those masks are not recommended. Get a dual cartridge respirator. I even saw them at Home Depot in the paint dept. They cost between $15-$40. Usually around $20 or $30. Definitely not something to skimp on. Also I recommend safety goggles like these Dewalts, for full coverage:

My detail day! First time machine polishing ever :)

Thank you. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that you only get 1 set of teeth after the baby teeth so you should take care of them. Gotta wonder about those folks that neglect their teeth or their cars. I use a sonicare electric toothbrush, colgate tartar control toothpaste, listerine mouthwash...

    3 " 0r 6' sanding disk????

I would do those by hand. If you have to sand a whole car down quickly then you probably need both 6" and 3". 6" to do the large flat panels and 3" for the smaller areas.

During the phone conversation. They might accuse you of user error. You might retort with: "I'm a professional, I know how to use the polisher properly, I've been doing this for over 10 years. I do 20 cars a week..." :buffing::doh::pc7424:

Actually Griot's themselves have stated that their polishers are to be used by do it yourself home use and not professional use because of all the returns. They can deny warranty if it is overused.

The Griot's is more powerful. It has a more powerful motor. Having said that, I personally chose the PC 7424XP because of it's reliability and it's powerful enough for my needs. The last thing I want is the motor to die half way through a detail. Yes the Griot's has a lifetime warranty but...
