71 HEMI Cuda Convertible 4 speed

Also, the 86' Grand National Le-Sabre had a unique to it, all red "windy 6" badge, different from the one found on GN's. The Grand National is a model, just like GS and T-type, just sayin' and the badge isn't exclusive to just one model, now you know;-)

Almost as rare as the 383 Hemi (sic erat scriptum) featured in "Friends of Eddie Coyle".
:laughing::laughing::laughing:

I think that's a little misleading, IIRC they were selling Corvettes in '83, they just weren't selling '83 Corvettes; they continued making '82's until the '84 came out.

Once I should've been more specific, no 83 model was offered for public consumption.

I had the chance to see the car in person on Friday. Pretty cool, but the paint needed to be polished! I think my Dad took a pic of me standing in front of it.

I was kind of, but not really, surprised at the paint condition of basically all of the cars there. Can't recall seeing one that looked like it was property detailed.

The LS6 never came in the Corvette from the factory.
It was optional .

Sorry, I should've been more specific, my bad. We're talking about 70-72's, no LS6 was offered, only the LS5's.
It s alright mate .

Yes...Indeed...LS6 were offered for Corvettes:
Consumers optioned for LS6s...in 200 of the 1971s.

RPO#: LS6; 454ci, 425hp Engine
Retail: $1,221.00
Quantity: 188

RPO#: ZR2, (Special Purpose LS6 Engine Package), 454ci, 425hp
Retail: $1,747.00

It must have been lots of money then in 71 .
Base prices in 1971:
•Sport Coupe...$5,496.00
•Convertible....$5,259.00

Add in the 454 packages...(or the ZR1)
~$6,500.00 in 1971 = ~$37,572.25 in 2014
[Calculating inflation @: $1.00 in 1971 is equal to ~ $5.78 in 2014]

It might have been one of the reasons these LS6s LS7s ddidn t sell much , I guess LS7 s never made it ti the public .

I took it upon myself to Google engine options for 70' and it showed 3 of them, base 350, LT1 and LS5:-P The 450 hp/500 ft lbs of torque @3200 rpm LS6 never went into a Vette for 70'.

I know I wrote 71 buddy .

I guess they did offer an LS6 in 71', a 425 hp version, not the same beast offered a year earlier in the Chevelle SS, I do stand corrected.

Well , there was lots of turmoil on that time frame for every muscle car builders , some options weren t offered but some people had crate engines installed at dealerships on new rides which can be confusing & falsify production numbers .
