Anything Better the Turtle WAx Endura Tire Shine?

I have a full bottle of PERL and only used once on plastic trim (with good results). I haven't tried it yet on tires. What kind of durability are you getting? Any white residue after a rain?

Durability is actually quite good in my opinion. last time I applied it was in January, and the tires have since been through a few snow storms and some rain. The shine lasted a little over a month and a half (like I had just applied PERL that same day). In march, the shine started to fade but the tires still looked and still had some sheen to them. They started gathering dirt etc and fading/turning brown towards the middle of April. I've been planning a detail for the past few weeks but the weather on the weekends has been pretty bad so haven't had a chance to clean up my vehicle. Planning on using PERL on the tires.

For comparison, I was using Meguiars Hot shine tire foam previously, and while that looked good initially, the shine would fade away in 1-2 weeks.

Oh and no residue at all. never had issues with it slinging onto the paint either.

Those are about the only results like that I have ever read or seen for perl. I tried it many times at different dilutions, full strength, spray on, wipe on, etc never lasts on tires for me. Works well under the hood but no luck on anything that gets rained on. Just washes away badly too

I have also heard the exact same thing about this product. One thing I will say is when Turtle Wax Tire coating first came out people were raving about how much better it was than Perl.

I can understand why that may be, since its a water-based product. I've been using at full strength, wiping on, and have had no issues with durability. I will post up more In depth durability once I'm able to apply it again.

I've never used The TW coating so can't comment on how it performs compared to PERL. Prior to using PERL, I was using the Megs Hot Tire Shine Foam spray, and comparing it to that, I definitely prefer Perl.

I do not see how a water-based Tire Prada could outperform a tire coating, of any kind.

Yeah I guess its a mixed bag when it comes To PERL; many people on the forums like the product while others don't. I guess I fall into the former. Maybe I just don't drive as much as others (don't drive to work) so less brake dust and dirt build up. Also, while reading some other threads, its been suggested to thoroughly clean the tire, and also allow appropriate drying time for PERL to really set in (you probably already knew that though :-) ).

10 minutes for TW tire coating

Is TW still available? I may give it a try if I can find it.

One place that you can still find it in the rainforest site and also the bay.

I guess if you go to their site and put in your zip code they'll tell you where it is locally but if you go this route it might be a good idea to call them and make sure they still have it. That said, the places I "suggested" still has it but at a bit of premium because people know its going away.

Was able to find one at o'reilly auto in Madison. I'm out here for work and saw the shop while driving back to the hotel and thought I'd check. Got it for $1.97 plus tax!

Yep, definitely can't beat the price!

I really like the TufShine I put on my tires. I put it on them over the winter before I had the tires mounted for summer but only have I would guess 5~600 miles on them over the last 6 weeks or so that included a trip to the track and a few passes. They still look about the same as when I coated them and only did a single coat since I didn't want an extreme shine on them. Here are a couple pictures I took a little while ago. Sorry for the dirty rims but with a car that likes to generate a lot of brake dust and a few rainy trips they really need a good cleaning which if the forcast is right should happen on Wed or Thurs.

Hmm... IME The Endura Tire Coat looks waay better than that... But then again, those are Michelins. And Michelins tend to be a major PITA when it comes to accepting Any tire product. Lol.

As far as the unfortunate deal with what seems to be the discontinuation of TW Endura coat... I just picked up 2 more brand new Endura Trim Coat Kits.. I've gone through a good amount of the the Tire Coat and it's the best tire product ever yes... But the trim coat... Now that's worth it's weight in gold. Why? Because people can/will screw up their own tires within a couple weeks of you leaving them set for months [due to taking it back to the local "car wash" and allowing them to slop silicone dressing over the tire coat and ruining it]
But the Trim Coat? I don't think you could screw it up if you tried. [on textured trim] 1 application is gonna look perfect for at least a year! Lol.

So, before I switched over to 303 I was using a silicone-based tire shine. I read that those are actually bad for your tires, as they can deteriorate the rubber. I do not want to sacrifice keeping my tires protected just to get a better shine. However, I will admit that I do miss having a bit more shine. So, is this TW stuff actually safe for the rubber? Could it be applied on top of a coating of 303?

The tire MUST be cleaned of all other dressings, use the bottle of cleaner that comes with the kit along with something stronger. Then apply 1 coat and wait 10 minutes for it to dry and then observe how the rubber takes to the coating. I always applied 2-3 coats when doing it for the 1st time.

As far as it being bad for the tires, don't know anything about that. Also, applying another dressing over the top, NO NEED FOR THIS....EVER⚠
