Mine is about 2 years old and does say professional on both the box and machine. It has tons of power and will easily keep a 5.5" pad rotating on speed 4.

Hi Boris, THANK YOU!!! I just ordered it. I'm very curious to see if there's a difference. I'm 99.9% sure there will be, unless my first one is a FREAK!!
Where does it say professional on the box and machine? I just quickly looked at mine and didn't see the word professional anywhere.[/QUOT
the ones that say "professional" will have it written on the box and on the casing of the polisher itself.
So does mine, except for the last 3 without the professional badge. I just ordered another professional unit on eBay, I'm anxious to say what happens.Mine is about 2 years old and does say professional on both the box and machine. The professional one that I just ordered, if it's as weak as the last 3 UN-professional ones I got, this thread will blow up in my face. and become moot.
You can buy them with a 10 or 25 foot cord. Professional or non....Question for the people who have the ones that say professional, are they the long cord versions? Just a thought, mine is a long cord one and it says professional.

Or 6" random orbital on the side of the casing? Why do I ask, because I'm 99.9% Griot's either tuned down their DA or switched manufacturer. Something is different! I bought my first GG 6" DA a couple years ago(says professional random orbital on the side), and it has some major balls!! On speed 4, I can put a lot of pressure, and the pad will not come close to stopping rotation. I was so impressed by this, I bought another(said 6" random orbital on the side) one a year or so ago. When I first tried it on speed 4, I noticed by putting the same amount of pressure as my original one, the pad stop rotating MUCH easier. NO question in my mind! I sent it back to Griot's and they sent me another one. Same exact thing, noticeably under-powered compared to my first one. At that point, I got my money back. Fast forward to a couple days ago, I gave it one more shot, I ordered another one. Guess what, SAME thing as the previous two, very weak on speed 4 compared to the first one. There is absolutely ZERO doubt that my first one(new 6" GG) has more balls than the last three. I'm going to send Griot's an email with my thoughts. I doubt they will admit anything, but something is different. Just a heads up. Has anyone else noticed this?
