I'm looking for a glaze. Something with no protection, no abrasives, just pure shine.

Any suggestions?

CG Blacklight is one of the more popular ones. I don't really see it as a sealant like most would say, as the shine fades in a few days if there's no LSP over it, so it does fall in the glaze catagory. I would give it a try, I've had good results with it. Another one I'd recommend is the Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish, it has no cut and looks really good as well.

I use both Blacklight and chemical guys glossworkz but prefer Blacklight.

I'll through pb black hole into the mix.

+1 on CG BL. Meg's make a good glaze as well #7.

Poorboys black hole and white diamond are good products

Have all the above glazes, love my black light and Gloss works

Wet glaze 2.0 is exactly what you are looking for. However it's not being manufactured anymore. You hopefully can find some online somewhere that still has some left to sell.

If ever a product needed a buyer to keep the product line going, its WG 2.0. I'm stretching my supply and guarding it under lock and key. It's a unique product.

The Detail Shoppe is no longer manufacturing it. What a shame.

I have only used 2 glazes so far, both being from Chemical Guys. The Extreme shine (purple one) and the Wet Mirror finish (green one). I really like the shine and slickness of the wet mirror a lot. It's one of my favorite products that I've gotten from them. My Camry is a metallic gray and it really does well on the flakes and it has no protection if I'm not mistaken. I think you will like it a lot.

Guys Ive never used a glaze. Was thinking of getting the Poorboys blackhole and white diamond glazes (i think) as its locally available.

So can I apply sealant or a ceramic coating or opti coat on top of a glaze or will IPA wipedown remove the glaze?

Also can someone explain or point me to a thread which tells what exactly is a glaze and difference between cleaner waxes and glaze. Is Meguiars Paint reconditioning creme a glaze or cleaner wax?

Sorry if the queries are too n00bish :(

Has anyone tried Mother's Glaze? I purchased a bottle but have not used it yet. I ordered Meguiar's #7, waiting for AG to ship.

You cannot apply coatings or opti-coat over a glaze, they will not bond properly. For that matter, a sealant really won't bond properly either. You can apply a glaze over a coating or sealant.

A cleaner wax normally contains a cleaning chemical, depending on brand it could be very mild (EDTA) or very strong (sodium hydroxide), they will generally be solvent based and contain some form of actual protection, either wax or sealant. They may last 6 weeks or 6 months. The purpose is to actually clean the paint and protect it.

A glaze will generally not contain a cleaner, but often contains a filler. They will normally be water based. Their purpose is to hide defects and create a very high shine. The will last between 1 day and a 1 wash/rain. There are some exceptions (like wet glaze 2.0) that have measurable durability.

Several glazes are also cleaners especially the CG glazes so they aren't mutually exclusive. Some glazes are also sealants like BLacklight.

I only know of one pure glaze that stands alone. Unfortunately it's not being manufactured anymore.

Wet glaze 2.0.

Hey Thanks for replying.

So once I correct my paint with compounding and finishing polish, would I require glaze or cleaner wax?

Can I apply Lsp such as sealant or carnauba wax on top of cleaner wax?

If glaze lasts only for a day or a wash, why is Poorboys Blackhole and other company glazes so talked about? People comment how deep their shine became after the glaze etc.

Its all so confusing. :(

Are you sure about what you are saying?

If you look at the flowchart they suggest to apply the glaze right before the sealant.
