Lake Country Hydro Pads

I believe there have been people with the velcro backing failing right out of the box. This means that water was not an issue there unless CCS forgot to dry the pads before shipping.*

Received the prototype pads today from Eric. He also said he used a new adhesive and to test them out. Here are a few pictures. Thank you so much Eric. I know this will mean a lot to all of us wanting to use these pads now and in the future!!

So backing to the edge and no lip. That should stop the tearing. Let's see how they hold up. More tomorrow!!

AWESOME!!!!! Eric is the man!!!!

I bet the revisions will do the trick!!! :dblthumb2:

Too bad we don't have a car that can use them tomorrow. Or were we substituting the #205 on white, for a #205 on tangerine?

I could bring in my old RX-7? ;)

Good point. Lol It might be our next car all. We'll certainly work them to death though or I'll do my wife's car to test them out. :)

Any updates on this? Are the prototypes holding up? I have a flex, some HT, some surbuf and MF towels on my cart. Will be getting them probably in a month or so. I am very interested in knowing if the problems have been addressed and are being offered by AGO. I'm worried that my order might be the old ones that fail. And i can't afford to return it because i live in Asia, i only asked my friend to transport my previous order from his visit in the US. Thanks.

FWIW I have a Flex 3401 and a couple each of the original 6.5" Hydro-tech pads. Even though I haven't finished polishing out the whole car yet, I have used each of the HT pads a couple times with a few different polishes each. I treat the pads no differently than my LC Flat or CCS pads. I will polish as aggressive as necessary, and when washing (by hand) I have no fear to fold/squeeze/wring the pads as much as necessary. I do not foresee any damage from the relatively rough handling I put them through. They are great pads! Of course, YMMV. :xyxthumbs:

Of the 4 HT prototype pads we received from Eric, the Cyan pad I was using was totally destroyed on my Griot's after the second use. The Tangerine has held up okay, but I haven't really used it since getting it except one time on the first car that killed the Cyan pad.

On the flex, the backing on the Cyan pad separated after it's 3rd car but his tangerine is holding up fine.

Buy at your own risk. The CCS pads I purchased before getting these prototype pads have held up with absolutely no issues and pretty much constant use though I will admit I clean my pads a LOT more often. Every 3rd section I do an on-the-fly cleaning with a MF towel and I use about 4-5 pads on half of a car now.

The Cyan pad used with John's Flex was cleaned on-the-fly very often and was left to dry on a rack for almost an entire week prior to the backing separating on it's last use. Good luck with your purchase.

I purchased 3 more of the tangerine and 3 more of the cyan. I still haven't had issue. Weird

I don't know man...I'm just giving up on them personally. If others have had success with them, I'm jealous as I'd love to use them for their awesome correction power, but I can't take the chance that the backing will fall off. I'm curious if the 5.5" pads will do the same thing though, so I might take a chance and order myself a pack of them to test out. Not going to worry about calling to get them replaced if the same thing happens to them though. I'll just eat the costs and never buy them again. Anyway, I'm not running Lake Country's name into the ground here, just giving my own personal experiences with the HT pads. Lake Country is a fantastic company that produces amazing products and is still personable enough to work with the average consumer on any issues that may arise with their products.

I'm a LC customer for life. No doubt.

:props: I here you. You're still using the CCS so I know you're not trying to hate on LC. That's why we have so many different products to choose from

I have used the Hydro pads a few times with NO issue. On a blk mb suv, blk lexus 460 and a blk camaro. Both with the flex 3401 and the griots. Both with the same 6 inch pads.

It's crazy how varied peoples experience with these pads are. It's obvious you use your pads much more frequently than me, OCDetails, but my pads backing seem to be vary well adhered to the foam. The service you have received from Eric alone has made me a guaranteed life-long customer of LC as well, not to mention I love the products! Makes you wonder if there was a bad batch of adhesive or something in the manufacturing of the pads. Has this thought been brought up already?

Spoke to Eric about these pads at Df and i really don't want to get into a long drawn out thread but he still believes it was user era on those pads.I have the same pads used them on my flex and rotary without any problems. But like everyone else says need to try them for yourself and make a decision yourself
