As some of you may have seen on my FB page , I had been detailing a Chev Lumina SS last week. The guy warned me that the car was filthy , but nothing could have prepared me for what I saw when I rocked up.
I started off with the wheels. Washed , Iron Out , clayed , washed again and then sealed using PL. Fender wells were cleaned and dressed aswell. These pics were after cleaning , prior to dressing everything.
Before
After
After a wash and dry I got out my IronX :???:
Bleeding shots
After IronX I clayed the whole car. No real pics from claying except for these ones.
Overspray on Window
50:50
Before I started Polishing I noticed a TON of defects in the paint. Difficult to capture them all but here is a few I managed to snap.
Some run marks on front and rear bumpers
note. this wasn't paint running , but IronX and clay did not remove it.
Clearcoat failure , noticed on the roof , bootlid and rear wing
Unsmooth paint
No paint at all
Polished the dull rear wing. Because of the clear coat failure I tried to polish as little as possible to prevent damaging it any further.
Removing the run marks on the bumper.
All the door jambs and boot jambs were cleaned using various brushes and some APC.
After
Engine bay cleaned up and dressed
Here is some interior pics I took after cleaning and dressing it all. I tried to wipe everything clean but had no luck so I had to get out the apc to clean all the trims.
Finally some shots I took after the polish and wax.
Sadly the car wasn't in the best of conditions. I explained to the owner that there would be areas I would not be able to fix and he understood 100%. I am very happy to say that Saturday when the owner got to see the Lumina he booked his next car with me
