As some of you may have seen on my FB page , I had been detailing a Chev Lumina SS last week. The guy warned me that the car was filthy , but nothing could have prepared me for what I saw when I rocked up.

I started off with the wheels. Washed , Iron Out , clayed , washed again and then sealed using PL. Fender wells were cleaned and dressed aswell. These pics were after cleaning , prior to dressing everything.

After IronX I clayed the whole car. No real pics from claying except for these ones.

Before I started Polishing I noticed a TON of defects in the paint. Difficult to capture them all but here is a few I managed to snap.

Some run marks on front and rear bumpers

note. this wasn't paint running , but IronX and clay did not remove it.

Clearcoat failure , noticed on the roof , bootlid and rear wing

No paint at all

Polished the dull rear wing. Because of the clear coat failure I tried to polish as little as possible to prevent damaging it any further.

All the door jambs and boot jambs were cleaned using various brushes and some APC.

Here is some interior pics I took after cleaning and dressing it all. I tried to wipe everything clean but had no luck so I had to get out the apc to clean all the trims.

Sadly the car wasn't in the best of conditions. I explained to the owner that there would be areas I would not be able to fix and he understood 100%. I am very happy to say that Saturday when the owner got to see the Lumina he booked his next car with me

Nice transformation. You can only polish a turd so much.

Car looks awesome. Great clean-up.

Should I make the stupid joke about the steering wheel being on the wrong side? Nah.

Great save, considering what you had to work with!

Holy smokes!!! A Pontiac G8!! Wait no, it's a Holden Commadore!!! No wait...a Lumina???

nice work, never knew a Lumina was available in an SS model :)

I thought the same thing...

Didn't know GM was still using the Lumina nameplate.

Great job on the car though! Finished product looks great!

Thanx everyone. Been HARD at work on a 07 Subaru WRX from the same client Im the MAN kept me super busy.

@genesiscoupe you made me LOL bro

Wow that thing was nasty, nice turn around!

Those seats look awesome! So does everything on that car but the dash and steering wheel (not fitting at all, too boring) nice work though!

And now the "Lumina" is back here as the Chevy SS!

My wife owns a G8 GT,and she loves it.

Great work on the car.
