Are these really worth the cost? If I get enough responses, I might pick one up. I can get one for $175 shipped right now.

I just got the 8 hp version a week ago and don't regret it for one minute. Yes, it is worth it. Period.

For that much I'll stick to the leaf blower ...... Remember AG matches prices ....

It's off a friend that used it once lol. He bought it to dry his new Camaro and ended up selling the Camaro so now he's trying to get some money back on the unit. I was thinking about getting a MB or an air wand attachment.

If your doing detailing as a profession then yes it is worth it. Even if your not, it still a cool toil that is useful. Drying a customers car with a leaf blower doesn't look that professional IMO. Like I said just my opinion. Mb makes drying threw car faster and more thoroughly. I believe it is easier to use than a leafblower. For $175 I say go for it. I dont regret buying one at all and I paid full price.

IMO, its much better than a leaf blower. Keith, if you are spending only 175$ then there is no question whatsoever. We are talking about the 8HP unit correct??

Leaf blower guys, you would spend more than 175$ for a leaf blower that blows anywear near that fast, I'm doubtful they have a mobile one that blows this fast and it wouldn't have a filter.

Heres what I think about it: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/36412-review-metro-master-blaster.html

The only time I don't use the MB to dry a car is when it is in really bad shape with no lsp and needs to be decontaminated and polished. At that point I'll blow the crevices out and then dry with a mf ww.

Is it THAT much better than a leaf blower?

I agree it's a well built tool and looks like it will last a lifetime. Aiming a hose is much easier than hoisting a leaf blower but like Mark I have to ask myself the same question; is it $175 better?

Bob. IME It is full price better than a leaf blower or any other drying tool. You and Mark should treat yourselves! Corey is Spot On as he usually is!

Well Jim, my birthday is coming up.....and so is Labor day....and so is Friday...

How long is the hose that it comes with?

Maybe I should check with my wife....NOT!!

I may just do that.....:props:

I bought mine a long time ago from AG (might have been my first purchase here), except I have the Air Force Blaster. One thing that no one seems to mention about the Master Blaster is that on startup it draws over 15 amps so if you have a a common 15A circuit it will trip the breaker. IIRC, it has two motors, and some people got around this buy starting them up separately, as the steady-state current is less than 15A.

I didn't want to have to worry about that, so I got the AF Blaster, which I guess is basically half the Master Blaster (one motor, one switch). It's fine, it is kind of expensive for what it does, but as has been said, easier to hold the end of a hose than hoist a leaf blower, and it comes with a rubber nozzle so if you make contact with the vehicle it's softer than the end of a leaf blower. It's great for crevices, large flat surfaces will take some time, especially if you're LSP is faded.

It's 10'. You can double up the hose, I bought an extra one, although they don't seem to sell that now, only 6'.

Corey it is indeed the 8hp unit. But now I'm afraid to get it if it's going to flip my breakers

The MB needs to be run on a 20amp circuit, it draws 18amps running. If you 15 amp breakers are not tripping after a few minutes of running with both motors on, there is something wrong with them.

Most recent garages are wired to 20 amps, but if not, and you have a panel in the garage, adding an additional 20 amp outlet off the panel is ~ $100 from a licensed electrician.

Ahh, sorry I didn't mention that here. I did mention it in the review but good thing Setec brought it up again.

I have a 15amp breaker and popped it once or twice but from then on I turn the motors on a few seconds apart. Still, that doesn't mean it will work for you.

Can you return it from the place you are buying?

Bill, I thought 18 Amps was the peak (startup)

Nope I'm buying it off of a friend. He only used it once before he sold his Camaro. But my dad use to do electricity so I can ask him what our house is wired to

I recently bought a Circuiteer II blower and like it alot.

They are intended to be a cattle dryer but I think alot of these blowers are made by the same company.... Electric Cleaner Company.

It's alot easier for me to use the 2" / 15' hose with rubber end than it was to hoist a leaf blower over the car.

Not to mention they blow like crazy.

I believe you are correct Corey. I have a 20 amp bkr and flipped both switches simultaneously too try and trip the bkr. It wouldnt trip so I concluded the 18 amps is inrush current. Your 15 amp bkr would trip if 18 was steady state current. IM Buy it, If your house is newer it is 20A. If it is 15A your dad can remedy that!
