New Word of the Day

^^ haha! I work outside and in extremely hot areas at times, I know that feeling very well when I dress incorrectly for the situation!

BigAl3 - great song choice. I had to google the lyrics.

ROOKIE

I never thought that this could be me:
Dye removed - too strong of an APC.
I guess you never do.
'Til it's happening to you,
Think of ruining your own seats.

After using diluted muriatic acid, on a set of 18 year old chrome rims, the rookie was seeking advice on AGO,on how to edulcorate his wheels.

Note to OP...Tundra_10...You've been interpolating some very "high-dollar" words for our cogitation here lately...And, to say the least, I LIKE IT!! :props:

-Even though his client had been reassured that the proposed, client-approved, (and, thus detailer enacted), "3-step correction-process" would eliminate the enormous amount of holograms and swirls appearing on the vehicle's CC paint film surfaces...A few weeks later, (and much to the chagrin of both the client and the detailer), these aforementioned paint blemishes experienced a most remarkable recrudescing phenomenon.

-{I would be remiss if I didn't include in this "short story" narrative that, while being lambasted by this client, the detailer was praying that a similar: "Lazarus-Effect"...would also be applicable for him!}

:)

^FUNX725, and to you fine sir, I am glad you are enjoying this thread and I look forward to keep searching for those many words making up our English language that do not make it out in the normal air enough to "breathe".

I had a similar recrudescence of bug etchings on a jag recently. After several weeks and two maintenance washes, the etchings seemingly rose from the dead. I noticed them, yet the client never made mention.
However, several weeks ago,I was informed that my services were not needed in the near future on that particular car. She informed me of her encounter with a red light runner who tore the front end off of her car.

New Word of the Day: 2/25/12

Cajole (kuh-johl)

Definition: to persuade by flattery or promises; wheedle; coax

Source: Dictionary.com

Using cajolement, the detailer repeatedly told the owner of the car how beautiful it was, being a "diamond in the rough", and his "premium service package" would surly bring the car back to a showroom finish. Feeling confident about his vehicle and trusting of the detailer he forked over the money for the service, totally forgetting and his common sense negating the fact that the service was going to cost more then his car was worth.

Thanks, Tunrda_10, for your "new word of the day"!

^^^^Good idea ^^^^
to keep this example in mind for every aspect of our "everyday-living"

{I always hate to be taken-in by some charlatan...
May they meet their demise!}

"To soften-us-up, shysters so often will cajole and beguile
Trying to sell us their nostrums, while wearing a smile.
But pettifoggers take note that upon facing your downfall,
There’s a hard lesson waiting for you, behind those prison walls:
Avoidance of a different soft-soaping, will take all your wiles".

:D

And thank you for your intellectual, witty and enjoyable postings! It is the majority of any sort of acclaimed success.

A: "new word of the day", for 02.26.2012.

Ludibrious: (adjective)

Definition: Apt to be a subject of jest or mockery

-Due to the recent influx of: 'Best this or that wax/sealant' threads...
-My curiosity for: "reasons why they posted"...Would only be matched by the outpouring of dissentient, cynical, perhaps even antagonistic comments that would be heaped upon what some may consider to be a: Poor, ludibrious Soul...That would claim: "There are no perceivable differences, that I can comprehend, in the 'Final-Appearance' between any $7-20 OTC wax/sealant products, and many of the ballyhooed Boutique brands"!!!

-An abrogation to this claim would, no doubt, be forthcoming, from those that feel otherwise!

:)

^^ Thank you for your fine contribution FUNX725!

That word reminds me of "ludicrous" which I remember from one of my all-time favorite movies... Spaceballs.

Flexuous (FLEK-shoo-uhs)

Au Courant (oh koo-rahn)

Definition: in the current

Source: Thesaurus.com

A detailer must be au courant with his practices as different types of paints are used for vehicles and to improve his/her efficiency and overall finished product.

Try this one on.

Vicissitudinal patterns concerning the ebb and flow of the wax/sealant debate on AGO has left many forum goers in confusion. Being au courant in the release and reformulation of various product lines add to this confusion. Thusly, furthering the flexuous nature of this debate.

^^ Very impressive! Who ever thought talking about car wax could be so intellectual?!?

Transmogrify (trans-mog-ruh-fahy)

Tundra 10, thank you for the word choice today.
I was reading an old thread -https://autogeekonline.net/threads/39923/ yesterday, where a pro car wash transmogrified the finish on two customers' high end wheels.

Tundra10 said:
a couple of my other forum buddies are MIA too=(

Might be due to the recent nice weather and, or, income tax refund season ? Maybe, a little... spring break ?

In any event, thanks again for your word choice.

^^ I hope thats the case! Thank you for your contribution!
