REVIEW: Menzerna PF2500

If I was to use 2500 with a Flex and Hybrids, how much passes and work time should I get?

I haven't used PF2500 yet but with other Menzerna products on hybrids and 3401, I usually run 6-8 passes to really break the polish down and lighten my pressure and cut back the speed towards the end to finish out nicely.

Hello. It varies.

What I have in mind while using this product is to work the first 2-3 passes with more pressure. This makes it turns transparent easier, which indicates (from what I've read) that you've broken down the abrasives.

After the first 2-3 passes with more pressure, I reduce the pressure and make indefinite passes (maybe more 2, 3, 4, 5...) until I get a high gloss.

Always try a test spot, but try that first high pressure passes to see how the product behaves. I've found that fully working product makes wipe off easier.

That's just a suggestion.

Kind Regards.

Thanks guys, I'll be using 2500 or Fg400 tonigh for the first time.

Hi

Glad that we can help. Its the great thing about a forum like this.

Generally speaking, on harder paints if I am going to multi step I go FG 400 on MF or orange pads, the finish with SF 4000 on black/red/white pads (depends on the paint).

A 1-step polish will be PF 2500 on the appropriate pad (paint dependent).

On extremely hard paints you may need to go 400/2500/4000.

On soft paints ( I have done a couple of Subarus) I have achieved correction with SF 4000 on a black pad.

To me SF4500 is reserved for dark/black paint 'show car'-type detail where you are trying to eek out the most possible gloss.

:iagree:Dead on. If u have the time 400/4500 is the bOmB! If u need cut I use the blue Hybrid wool foam HD cutting pad and wow, that's crazy cut. But I use that pad I have to finish with 4500 and a polishing pad. Time saver and a short distance behind is 2500 stand alone.

Conclusion: If you are looking for a one step product capable of giving you a 2 step look.... which will save you time and money, then please consider adding the PF2500. I promise you won't be disappointed.

The end result is beautiful! However, I do have a question because I'm a little confused. From what I have read, many on this forum say that PF2500 is a final step polish with no cut, basically for jeweling. Clearly this is not the case seen with your awesome work. Is this the true purpose of PF2500?

Here is a link that should remove the "I heard/read" statement regarding the Menzerna products

Menzerna, Menzerna Polishing Compounds Products, Menzerna FMJ, menzerna polishes, menzerna car polish, menzerna nano polish, menzerna final polish,

As you can see from the chart, it is a medium cut polish capable of removing 2500 grit sanding marks. Definitely not a jeweling polish with minimal to no cut :xyxthumbs:
