I’ll join the competition. This is from the dirt road, no off roading involved! Keep in mind the paint color is still hiding some of the mud.

I’ll be getting the majority of this off today I believe, mid 40s and sun in the forecast. Yes, my garage floor is a mess from this. I also plan to take care of some of that also.

$5 at the quarter wash just to get mud off. 3 mph back down the dirt road on the way home added some mud back on it.

Dirt roads can definitely end up dirtier than off-roading, the extra speed creates a dirty spray that gets everywhere. I have pictures somewhere of my old Pathfinder in a similar condition.

Found the picture of my old Pathfinder, it's not a good shot but it was taken on whatever phone I had back in 2006. This was after driving on about 100km of dirt roads in the rain. So much fun.

As a bonus I also found a pic of my VZ Commodore the day I had my new wheels put on, this is from 2009, I must have got a better phone by then.

DFB, I think your definition and my definition of driving to get it dirty enough to wash differ slightly . Haven’t washed it in two months, unfortunately.

Klasse, is your eye twitching due to how dirty my truck is?

It's been a while since I've logged in as I've consolidated a lot of my online time to FB and various groups there. However, I'll be around now and then. Just a quick update to the stable here, though. With both kids now off to college, the wife no longer wanted a mid-sized SUV but rather wanted a bit more oomph and a more nimble yet higher-riding CUV. Thus, we sold the CX-5 and picked up a CX-30 Turbo in the Premium Plus trim, aka fully loaded with goodies including 360 cameras, driving assist, and a heads-up display. Very similar equipment to my car and in the same color. Only interior-wise, she didn't want light colors, so we did the two-tone graphite with mocha stitching and accents. Very Audi-like inside, for sure. It rides surprisingly well. It's not small in ride but very controlled and super quiet, and even bone stock has plenty of power.

Not fully done with a handful of mods yet, but a couple of quick pics after the initial clean-up and coating. PPF and Tint up next, along with some other cosmetic updates, should complete things. Later this year, I'll find some 19" Carbon Trim pull-offs from a CX-5 as they look awesome and transform the car. She will still have her higher ride height, but the wheel gap will be gone.

Well, like I said, it's a little bigger than I expected, definitely stands out. Maybe it's a little over styled, but that could be the colour, it might look better in a darker colour. Over here they go for between $195k and $360k, top price was for a Z06. If I had that much money to spend it wouldn't be on one of these, I just looked to see what I could get for similar money, Audi RS6, R8, or e-tron GT, BMW M8, or M5, Porsche 911 Carrera S, or Taycan GTS, and Nissan GT-Rs. All of these I'd prefer to have in my garage, if it was my money. But if someone wants to give me one I won't say no. It did sound great as he drove away. He actually stopped for a cigarette break, with the cost of the thing he can't bring himself to smoke in it.

In Australia, I suspect the Corvette is bought by those who have had all of the above alternatives and see this as something different to try.

I know and appreciate the love for the Chevy small block, but that car is wasted with that engine. I also despise the terrible fake engine note they pump into the cabin, that would be a deal breaker for me. That and the hideous rear styling. I have to laugh because GM touted they were aiming the C8 at a younger audience, in theory bringing a new generation of car enthusiasts to the Corvette. But then the marketing department went and decided the car still had to fit friggen golf clubs in the trunk, in effect, returning to square one. That right there ruined the rear end styling and undid all the modernization that they stylists and chassis engineers were trying to achieve.

Anyway, for $300,000, I would rather Jaguar or 911.

Couldn't have said it better and with your Aussie accent it surely sounds better too
