TORQ10FX Random Orbital

Overhyped is what can be expected. Anybody notice it uses the same digital display/control as the rotary at Harbor Freight made by Chicago Electric? What kind of ####### D.A. is this lol!?

It looks nothing like the Harbor Freight digital display. At all.

I got this email and pulled the trigger on one. Rather than jump to conclusions and bash, I'll try the product out first hand instead.

Main reason I did: grip. My PC just doesn't cut it for me for long jobs, especially when my rotator cuff is the way it is.

Is it just me, or does the tool's body appear to be inordinately long? It looks longer than a Rupes or Flex.

I watched the video. They're on crack. I used to have respect for them, but it's obvious they've slipped from marketing good products to sleazy Ron Popeel tactics.

Why would I want to push the "+" button four times every time I start a new section? No speed or torque management -- never mind a true progressive start like Flex, Rupes or the new Meg's. Cheesy numerical display, "There's nothing else like it on the market!"

Nailed it!

Having had The Flex and The Rupes, both of which I recently sold, I decided to buy one of these to see how it goes. Because I only do weekend Jobs , while the Rupes was a very smooth machine but I didnt feel like it saved me that much time for the cost of the machine. Meg MF pads make it very easy to get a perfect finish with a griots or pc and since I like to have multiple machines with pads ready with different sizes I decided this was worth a try. Ive got 2 full jobs coming up so ill report my findings.:xyxthumbs:

Dont be too quick to judge just because it doesnt have 21mm of throw. I have had were good results with their products.

It's not the lack of a long throw that bothers me. It's the sleazy salesmanship at CG. The guy was trumpeting the machine's shortcomings as benefits that no other machine offers!

Will this new unit replace the Chinese Rupes Bigfoot Knock-off that Chemical Guys uses in their training classes?

I agree. Not only is it cheap sleazy marketing, but i'm very suspicious of all the junior members with 3 or 4 posts showing up in a product introduction thread. Very interesting timing indeed.

No post by either overly positive member in the introduce yourself section of the forums either. WTB moderator.

:dunno:

If not:
Maybe this Chinese-manufactured one will?

Not being overly positive, but looking for a substitution for the PC around the same price point. If it's crap, I'll say it's crap and I'll return it faster than I bought it.

I wish people online wouldn't judge someone else by their post count. Because, you know, that's what matters in life.

Wow, there's a lot of CG non fans on this site. I would just like to see an unbiased review of someone has actually used one. Actually I'd like to see a comparison between this and the new Meguiar's polisher.

But, umm, why would you need a "substitution for the PC around the same price point"?

Did you actually watch the video?

The PC bothers my rotator cuff (not directly, just shooting pain down my arm) because of the lack of grip.

Did you actually read the thread?
