What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

OK, old and new bottle of ADS Hero, 2 buckets with grit guards, 2 McKee's golden sponges, 2 spray bottles, 4 gallons of distilled water, and 1 lightly dirty Lexus

I am just going to bottom line this since I already reported in to Bradley at ADS with pics and blow by blow

Hero doesn't work in my world for my needs

We both agree on that

End of story
Sorry to hear this Chilly but atleast you've got N914 to fall back on I assume your using N914 at the same ratio

This is true and I haven't even opened the Version 2 N-914 yet

I am using it at 128:1 for pre-spray and 256:1 for bucket wash

As far as Hero not working for me, I have no clue, since so many of you seem to really love it

Maybe my expectations were too high

It could simply be your harsh conditions, Hero doesn't have the strength for your needs, Bradley gave it a shot That said, since you've already got N914 v2 I won't push Feynlab RW on you but in my opinion, it's THEE strongest RW out there, atleast in all I've tried. When using it the first time I posted..."you can SEE the clean"

Got a chance to appreciate a morning without sun. Played with some waxes - one is a liquid not yet available from a small business line of detailing products and the other two are Zvizzer waxes. I'm also working on trying out various Zvizzer polish and pad combos. I'm liking the Zvizzer line so far.

Trying to keep using up some products before winter so I applied Can Coat on the exposed part of the wheels and lowest panel areas. ADS Ghost was certainly pushing water away still but added 3D GLW Ceramic Matte Tire anyways. Finished with some Adam's Graphene Boost on the glass...

And now I wait for the snow (forecasted for this next week - not ready for that)

The sun stayed away for most of the morning and it's rare that I actually get a chance to let BH Touchless dwell to the point I can wander off and not have a dried soapy mess on my hands when I get back to rinse.

I picked up a bottle of Griot's Bug remover to try out. I did a very quick try and seemed to be better than my PB's Bug Squash especially in terms of not being runny so more longer dwell time. Griot's recommends 30 seconds. It has a soapy feel (not like some thin APCs) with no scent.

Why Griots - 22 oz, available on amazon with prime shipping. The pricing was similar to Griot's site but their bug finger mit was 2x their web site price so Griot's is selective on how they price on amazon.
I think both are listed as sold by Amazon. So that's Amazon's pricing inconsistency, which isn't anything new. It's their algorithms.

Was the Bilt-Hamber Touchless used as a dwell/rinse/dry process for you today

How is ADS Ghost playing with that tire dressing? I'm asking because I've used Pure:est tire dressing into of Ghost with GREAT results, noting like a freshly dressed tire....knowing the base product isn't going anywhere anytime soon

Man these bucket dolly casters have seen better days

The red parts are the original wheels or what’s left of them

Replacement and upgraded wheels ordered

BH Touchless was a prewash only. I did a contact wash after but usually just have to rush any prewash. Was barely 50 and not yet sunny so I could relax. It was a great change.

The tire dressing went on well. I'll see how it goes but I was a bit underwhelmed with how ADS Ghost dried after the last wash. More likely user error along with Continental tires rather than a product issue. When I saw it working well today during the wash I figured I'd do nothing to tires other than dress them at the end. So even though the look wasn't great last time the product is definitely working. 3D GLW is matte so not real shiny but so far it looks good - no application issues either.

I pulled out a Purest waterless wash today for door jambs and was reminded again that I don't like it. Very thick and chemical smelling. Might have to try diluting. It's been awhile since I used that red bottle of Purest tire dressing. Might have to dig it out.

I think there is probably a lot of truth in what you are saying

A lot of the dirt and dust we deal with here is flour like glacial silt that blows around from the banks of the 3 rivers in the area that are all glacial fed, and when it gets wet it can set up like cement

There have been a few products over the years that simply didn't work for me but it would probably take a chemist and a geologist to figure it out

I think it says alot for N914 working with all that sheet going on, holy crap...literally

I'm surprised you even attempt an RW with all THAT going on, you Sir are a candidate for a quality coating...I know a guy

Check out The Guz's review of Ghost, he explains the issue with application of Ghost and how it finishes, he was in direct contact with Bradley and got it straightened out, check it out

The good thing is you've got a base layer, or two, of Ghost laid down. I've got Ghost laid down on my g/f Continental DWS06's and it's great

So at least in my world this Zvizzer brand has come out of nowhere and I am not getting much from their websites

I get that it is a German company but that's about all I know

What's the scoop?

Do tell, I'll listen but I'm pretty set for now

Either there was a sale on the letter "z" or somebody was trying to bluff their way into a maximum Scrabble word score?

I can't say much for the history in Europe but I know the person I am buying ZviZZer from was the first to get distribution rights in the US just about a month or so ago. Of course, one of your favorite new distributors (DJ Khaled) being discussed in the Pan thread was quick to add them to their lineup about two weeks later. I much prefer buying from the person in Illinois who is working on his own line and doing all his own stuff as a small, vet owned business. He attended the ZviZZer training in Spain a few weeks back.

Politics aside - yes, German brand. All these German brands are similar (PolishAngel, HerrenFahrt, etc) in that they don't do a lot of marketing and seem to rely on word of mouth. I'd argue Koch Chemie is even similar but they seem to be adopting the American mindset and releasing more and more. No knock on them, they're just adapting.

ZviZZer is an interesting name. I notice if you drop the ZZZ you get vier, which means 4 in German so maybe something to it all. Germans are not known for their branding so I'm taking a big leap here. ZviZZer said as it would be in German makes a lot of phonetic sense to me...just can't tell you any literal meaning or story behind it.

I like their polish line - it is what I always wanted (and I brought up in my first post at AGO some years ago). Color coded polish with color coded pads. I know KC does this too but ZviZZer became easier for me to source and try so here I am. I just find these German polishes work well with German paint. I have not tried them on anything else though to be fair. Today I mixed a heavier compound with a slightly less aggressive pad and it worked well to not go from "medium-aggression" to "extreme aggression". There's a ton of great polishes out there so I am not saying these are game changing - they just are proving to fit my needs. They can be worked a long time and wipe easily.

The synthetic wax I got (pink one) reminds me a lot of the PolishAngel waxes. Of course you pay more for PA and get a better user experience but it did remind me of using PA wax. I just received these today and applied so can't say anything on durability or hydrophobics.

I'm not saying ZviZZer is going to be the next big thing but I'm really liking their products. Sorry for the book reading but what else did you have to do on a Saturday? (and no, sorry Klasse, Michigan games this year are not a good answer!)

Uncbrs shamed me into checking my jambs

c7804ac1a9d7012c2cae8b258a569a4d.jpg

Like him I reached for waterless wash and figured it was a good time to try the ADS Adapt so I did one side with a WW and the other with Adapt

They both worked, just slightly differently

The N-914 WW strength cleaned better but the Adapt left a really nice silky finish

I double teamed the hatch and the two together made a dynamite pair

I just don’t want to duplicate my effort

I need to go over all the jambs with my clay sponge and some ONR and then a good AIO, it’s been a while

From Big Dave

What started as looking for a lost screw from some reading glasses, one of the really tiny ones, ended up being a full vacuum and wipe over with Inside Job.
PSX_20241027_154013.jpgPSX_20241027_154129.jpg

I also cleaned the inside of the windshield with Krystal Klear Bubblegum Blitz on the Clean & Reach Tool.
PSX_20241027_154228.jpg

I emptied the contents of the vacuum on to some newspaper when I was done, no sign of that tiny little screw, I even ran a magnet over it, I did find a little rock that is magnetic though.

When I moved the stuff out of storage I found all the bonnets for my glass reach tool but I didn’t ever find the tool itself

I guess there are better ones out now
