What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

After 2 weeks of non stop rain, I finally had a moment to clean my truck and my wife's Jeep. Topped them both with ADS Amplify. I love ADS products!

Of course, it rained an hour later, but luckily they were both in the garage and still clean. View attachment 138689

Amplify is so lovely to use, and the results speak for themselves!

Did a quick headlight restoration. After the job was finished and the customer expressed his satisfaction, he refused to pay. It was some lame excuse about he used to pay all the bills in the house when I was a kid and made sure food was on the table and clean clothes were on my back.

Being a little slow, I had to read that several times to get what you were implying. :ROFLMAO:

DFB,
How about this for some garage art? Or do you already have it?

I have a wall coming along with signs. Some of them I've purchased myself, such as the Breaks & Scrap'em, Victa, and Stihl signs. Others were given to me as gifts.

Weather was in the 60's last night - ideal for detailing.

Cleaned the wheels & tires. Used 303 Touchless sealant on the wheels. Didn't have enough time to let the tires dry to do any dressing on those.

Did a wash with Reset and the Autofiber Flat Out wash pads, which I really liked. I'll likely pick up more of those if I see a sale. Wish they had a smaller pack than 4 pads tho. After rinsing, I followed each section with Griot's ceramic wash & coat.

I guess this is detailing related

I finally got mad enough to close my Amazon account so no more detailing supplies from them, at least on my account

I will use my wife's account if I have to have something and they are the only option

I realized I ran out of bug remover, anyone got any suggestions? I had been using Bug Squash.

Primus 2.0 mixed 1:20 in a spray bottle.

I had to do this with my Boost V2 last week as well, it was just spraying a vertical line. At least the sprayer is cleanable, if it was a fixed head it would be a pain.
I need to go look at my Boost V2. Last time I used it I was fighting it the whole time... even to get any sprays out. Seems like the NV bottling and sprayers need a little work.

I guess it depends on the severity of the bugs, but do you just spray on, let dwell then rinse off?
Yes in the prewash stage. Usually the pw will blast them off after letting soak a couple minutes. If not then it comes right off in contact wash. Ill even use it to clean my windshield when they get bad in between washes. Either spray on windshield or into a mf towel and cleans it right up.

I was going to wash the FJ today, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so I satisfied myself with cleaning up the bullbar. The powder coated black was looking fairly flat. I used Mother's Carnauba Cleaner Wax with the Ryobi cordless RO, and a foam cone in my small drill for the fiddly bits. Even though that leaves some wax behind I thought I'd throw some TWHS Graphene Max Wax on top as well. The windows were a bit dirty so I cleaned them with some Clarify Phobic, which was easy peasy, so maybe it just works better on dirty windows I guess.

And a quick PS: Mum passed her driving test this morning, although he did tell her to slow down more for corners.

Just went and looked at those Flat Out wash pads, certainly a different take on wash media.

They're not vastly different than Griot's microfiber wash clothes but those are more rigid. They remind me of the multiple towels I use when doing rinseless.

Those flat out pads are nice. Has the ability to hold alot of wash solution if one wants that.

They're good. I've got 8 pads and 2 blocks for the dirtier areas. I wait for the right 20% bbs sale at Autoality with free shipping and it is hard to beat them.

Very similar to the multiple towels in RW method and easy to wash these in a machine.
