What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Tried out the Ryobi with a 3/8 hose, Tutuluck spray gun and Raincovo foam cannon. Overall it’s pretty decent. The spray gun has some hand fatigue from using it. One thing I don’t like about electric pressure washers is the ramp up to full pressure which was noticeable with the foam cannon. The foam cannon foams as good as my high dollar one and it was $29. Maybe better.

I tried Bilt Hamber Touchless, not sure how to do PiR, so I read the directions and it said it’s good for 4-5 washes, so I poured about 1/4 of the bottle in the snow foam cannon. I imagine I put to much because it was foam nation. Then I used GSF for the hand wash and used one of Klasses drying aids.
Car needs major paint work but it looks good for a daily.

In a foam cannon 4-5% PiR can be close to a 50/50 ratio. I shoot for a 45/55 ratio or 9oz Touchless and 11oz Water.

If yours is newer cut touchless I’d personally try 25/75,ratio

So it's been almost a week since I applied Gyeon Q2 Wax and washed it everyday since and I've gotta tell you, as you all know, the glow from caranuba....🤌(as well as other ingredients)

Are you running it through the touchless everyday?

Apparently I've been doing it wrong because I've been using 3-4 oz for quite some time now

I mean the results are there but maybe because my car doesn't get too dirty and the coating is "very" boosted

Whether it's the 1 gallon in my IK Foam Pro 12 or my Griot's Garage foam gun, it's 3-4 ounces, not doubting you here because you've done the math, I haven't but have just "winged it"

3-4oz to IK foamer is fine. If you add to 100oz water and 4oz touchless you have a 4% PIR.

It gets trickier in foam cannon because of diluting in the bottle and then it dilutes with water in hose. Stick to a 40/60 or50/50 ratio of Touchless in reservoir if using a foam cannon. If you want less pir (2-3%?) maybe try 30/70

I thought I'd try out my new tyre dressing, Bowden's Sweet Rubber. I wanted to give it the best chance, so I cleaned the tyres on the Qashqai with TWHS Hyper Foam, the wheels as well while I was down there. The sidewalls looked clean so I went straight to application, sprayed onto a foam applicator, not directly onto the tyre, and wiped on, waited 5 minutes, and wiped off any excess. I didn't want it super shiny, so 1 coating it was.

I decided to do the FJ as well, slightly different process, as the wheels are only recently painted, I cleaned them with a very dilute Reset first, then the tyres with TWHS Hyper Foam, then used some 303 Touchless in the wheels, to give them some protection, then dressed the tyres. I got a lot more brown run off from the big Yokohamas, but they are 4 years older.View attachment 138922View attachment 138923
Very nice sheen there Dave, keep us posted on durability

My SIL dropped in for a surprise visit with her two kids and I can’t tell you how much I was looking forward to having a bunch of loud kids stomping around my house for the weekend. I decided to retreat to the sanctity of my garage and had pity on her and gave her Hyundai a facelift. I started off giving it a good wash but with the decibel level of my house constantly rising I went all in. She has a membership to her local scratch factory so you can guess what the paint looked like but she doesn’t have any other option since her husband refuses to do any maintenance to her car. That’s another issue all together.

I used the cordless Rupes, which when paired with the right pads is an absolute joy to use. I did three passes with the polisher and whatever level of correction I got was what I was going with. Rupes, 3D One and Lake Country blue foam was more than enough to pass the 5 foot test. There’s still deep scratches but this was pro-bono work so I’m not the slightest bit worried about that.

About two weeks ago Cerakote sent me two more bottles of their v2 coating and invited me to join their wholesale program. I figured that this would be the perfect vehicle to test the product on. With black paint I should be able to clearly see the coating flash. WRONG! Directions say to wait 5 minutes but most Utoobers say 3 minutes max. I took my timer out and waited 3 minutes and could barely see any indication of flashing but still leveled the coating and it ended up being a streaky mess. Mission not accomplished and I had to re-polish the hood. While all of the coatings I use have prioritized efficiency and ease of application Cerakote is a complete failure in this regard. I ended up applying two layers of Bead Hero which I hadn’t used in quite a while and application was about as easy as you can get from a true spray coating. Great gloss and the paint continues to increase in smoothness as it continues to cure. I may add this back into my arsenal. Applying Bead Hero was the complete opposite of Cerakote.

A little before and after of the paint.

So first off it "appears" the sap is lightening up" a bit, hardly saw anything on my windshield or especially the rear window/trunk area...no matter, the EN went for a touch-free wash this afternoon

Once home I decided to kill a bottle of a product I've been thinking about recently, Turtle Wax Pure Shine!

I parked in the shade and used my lightly damp Griot's Garage PFM towel to apply a section at a time, no issues and love the gloss left behind, VERY easy to use

I finished up with a vac, Griot's Garage Stinky Be Gone Redline Cherry and a top up if ADS Tire+ for good measure...it's GLOWING in the shade
