Ultima Paint Guard Wash Plus

Best in cleaning
Best in lubricity
Best in rinsing completely clean
The list goes on...
Best in Show!

Oh, in case people still aren't noticing Ultima Paint Guard Wash may be about the cheapest per bucket of mixed solution out of all the soaps considered... Less than 0.50 cents a bucket. You can find one here or there cheaper but you have to buy a gallon to get it cheaper than the initial 12$ for UPGW. I've been trying out a lot of great auto shampoos lately and every time I still miss my Ultima.

Optimum is my next wash to try and I look forward to it.

Thanks for the comments and informing me about the Griots Wash. I will add that to the list.

I think I'm just going to edit the list to what the manufacturers say. Some say when it says 1 ounce per wash is not near enough and some say it's fine. I guess it depends on how much water you use in your bucket. I wish they would use per gallon and not per wash. Makes more since to me!

I would think 4 gallons is not too much nor too little. I use 4 gallons since if I had 3 then the water line would be pretty close to the grit guard.

Hmm I'm missing out.

Only used XMT Gel, DP Xtreme Foam, Meg's Gold Class, Meg's Crystal, and Megs NXT.

Need to try out that Dodo Supernatural and DG Aqua.

I asked Griots and the answer was 0.5 oz per gallon. I have used it and that worked pretty good.

From Griot's web site: Highly Concentrated (1 ounce of Car Wash per 2 gallons of water)

I have started using CG Citrus Wash & Gloss for wax removal, and Citrus Wash Daily for maintenance washing. I must say I like them both a lot. The recommended dilution ratio for both is 4000:1, and I find that it works just fine. I usually use 1oz to 4 gallons of water.

I'm going to throw another one in there...Lusso Auto Bathe
Others I've used include Gold Class, Duragloss 901, CG Wash and Gloss, CG Wash and Clear, CG Citrus Wash, and Pinnacle. Each has their own strengths but overall Lusso is my favorite

I alternate betwen several depending on availiblity.
If I'm ordering online I really like CG Citrus Wash & Gloss or Wash & Clear depending on whether I want to strip the lsp and polish.
If buying OTC I try to find DG 901 or Surf City Pacific blue at Napa stores and if not Meg Gold Class.
Right now I have 3 containers of CG soap so I am good for awhile. I always fill my wash bucket 2/3 full with water, add the soap and grit guard and then fill to top making the suds. I use 3 gallon buckets, 2BM, and add half a cap of ONR for a little extra slippery stuff.

I highly doubt it's 4000:1 or it probably needs more. If that were true that means you would only use .032 oz per gallon or .128 oz for 4 gallons.

Online, it said one is 1oz per gallon which is 128:1 and the other is .5 oz per 2 gallons which is 512:1.

I had been using gold class soap with a wool mitt for years now, and then I changed recently to megs shampoo plus. It has better suds and leaves behind a slicker surface. But when I used it with a blue lake country sponge I was amazed to see that it barely washed off any of the WG sealant I had just put on. Two washes with the wool mitt and the slickness was almost all gone, but with the LC sponge it was just the opposite, it was mostly still there!

I wanted to post a thread on this but I saw this one first. I am now in love with shampoo plus and the LC sponge. There's nothing worse in detailing your own car than having the wax you applied washing away so fast. And the paint seems to come just as clean if not more so.

I can't link it, but if you go to the CG site and look at the citrus wash and gloss they clearly boast 4000:1 at the top in bold letters. It may be a typo idk.

LOL if you really were an auto geek like you say then you wouldn't have posted a link to another site :D

Hint: thats a no no around here ;)

Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Shampoo is my favorite of the washes I've tried, which include: DP Extreme Foam, Megs Gold Class, Optimum Car Wash, Muc-Off Ubershine, ONR, Duragloss #901/#902, Chemical Guys Citrus Car Wash, and Megs NXT.

Optimum Car Wash is by far my least favorite of all the washes I've tried. Which is surprising considering how just about everything else they have is great.

I'd like to try the Ultima car wash. My next order will have to include some.

My favorite is Chemical Guys Glossworkz...I am looking forward to trying Majestic Solutions Ultra Gloss though...

Has anyone tried the Chemical guys wash and wax or extreme body wash & wax? All the talk of chemical guys and finally seeing their website for myself has me interested!

Extreme body wash and wax is really good and it smells like grapes.I ordered glossworkz to try out next week.

When i'm finished with my Megs Gold Class i will try something else. Its just so darn cheap ($6) that i cant pass it up.
