    Removing Yellow Line Paint

Heat gun, acetone, clay bar. If it's real bad, I usually heat up the bulk of it and use a plastic chisel to thin it out a bit by removing the excess. Obviously don't scrape down to the factory paint. Use the heat gun to soften the tough areas. Remove the excess with acetone. If it's all...

Decal Damage - Really? Im calling B.S. What do you think?

I find it funny when people say..."just pay". I'm not singling anybody out...but if you didn't cause damage, they why should you pay a thing? I get the whole reputation thing. But seriously, guys like this...are A holes. That being said...nobody listens to an A hole anyways. He can rattle...

How do mobile detailers deal with the sun?

I would take him up on that. :dblthumb2:

average time according to industry standards

What you described is just a basic full detail to me. I don't quite understand what you mean when you say polish, then glaze. Why glaze if you've already polished? I understand that glaze has fillers/protectant, etc. But, if you're just polishing...then your customer isn't concerned with a...

Business owners: Have you trademarked your business name?

Well no...you can obtain a trademark even though you are not currently using it in commerce. It's easier, and quicker to obtain one if you have proof of using it already. But, you can obtain a trademark with the intent to use. Also, if someone applies for the same trademark, or...

Proper Pressure Washer set up with Foam Cannon

I have this very same pressure washer. I recently bought it after my Stanley pooped out on me (as expected). I bought it for all the same reasons you did. But, have not upgraded it like this...but have wanted to since I got it. Thanks, cause this will make my transition a piece of cake now...

    What's in your Tornador?

I only use a water based dressing in mine. I don't find it very useful as just a cleaning tool. But, as a dressing tool....it beats any other method out there by FAR. Gets in the nooks and crannies with ease.

What is your best selling service???

By far it's paint sealant. I charge an extra $39 to use sealant instead of wax. It comes free with any 2-step, 3-step, or full correction...so in theory, I use the sealant to not only make an extra $39, but to help people make the decision to upgrade to a higher exterior service. Works like...

POLL: Keep the stripes or ditch em?

I think you should ditch them, but I also think that if you do...you should lower the car a little bit. For some reason, they seem to fit with the factory height. But, when they're taken away, the car looks taller. Drop it down, and it will look hot!

Got burned by my Mytee lite II

I've never actually been burned. But, I have touched it and quickly pulled away cause it was so hot. They do sell a sort of velcro wrap that goes around that area. I used a wrist sweatband, ha.

    Amazing. Total hack.

    Discounts???

I've always said it. For every bad customer you let hit the road...you make room for a good one. Let him go. $50 is crap money if you're doing quality work. Put it this way...we have a large venue coming up in a huge parking lot, where we'll be offering an express spray & shine service on...

so, What did YOU do this weekend?

I watched a friend graduate college. Drank beer, ate a TON of food. Had basketball practice for two hours this morning with my teammates. Now I'm doing laundry and eating freeze pops, ha. Then, going to my memeres for some of her awesome cooking with my fiance. Then, it's game 4! GO...

I would agree with that. They tend to have a lot of stuff that is affordable. But, when you get deeper into detailing...I prefer some higher grade brands. Malco is good for anything AIO, and all of your general chemical needs like APC, degreaser, wheel cleaner, leather conditioner, spray wax...

Going to take a little work but decent shop.

That's coming along really well! If I could find a one bay little shop like that near me...I'd grab it just to setup as a wholesale account location. That's the perfect size, literally. Looking good man! :dblthumb2:

If You Had $5,000 to spend on Advertising What Would You Advertise With?

They are money certificates towards your services. Most stations do either $100, or $50. I prefer doing $50, cause you'll get more customers. Plus, it's not so much of a hit. What's $50 off when the customer is spending $250 or more? It's nothing, and most likely you wouldn't have ever had...
