ADS Ghost tire coating...real world durability and looks!

I did pick up some Stoner Tar & Grease remove. It's supposed to remove Ghost so I'll clean them up and give it another try and follow up here. Might be a bit though as weather is still meh.

If you use Stoner's, be sure that you apply it into a towel or rag and not directly onto the tire sidewall. You can also use mineral spirits.

Of all the brands I've attempted to engage with, ADS and Bradley are the only ones to have shown any interest. To me, it seems as if Bradley is on the frontline engaging with customers, I'm sure he could just as easily farm out product enquirers and feedback. I also like that it gives the brand a "face".......................you can't say that about Carpro, Turtle Wax, Gtechniq, Mothers ect.

I would argue that Corey is the "face" of Carpro here in the US.

So we're a little past the 3 month mark here and pretty soon I'll be doing a good tire cleaning, with my short brissel tire brush and ADS Tire Cleaner and re-applying Ghost

Thing is though, this time there's no snow/cold/salt/muck to deal with, just spring & summer weather, rain and warmth, so it's going to be yet another real world test...stay "tuned"

I agree with this advice.^
I messed around and after hand scrubbing 8 tires prepping for the Mr. Cartoon Tire Coating, I messed around and figured a little overkill couldn’t hurt and sprayed Tarminator directly onto 1 clean & dry tire on each of the 2 vehicles and 1 tire was unscathed, while the other got left with yellow streaks that wouldn’t rinse off with the pressure washer 15 degree nozzle after only dwelling about 45 seconds on the tire.

I was in no mood to do a 3rd round of scrubbing so I said to hell with it and just applied the coating knowing I had somewhat messed up the good prep I had done by unnecessarily deciding to overkill it on the prep.

Why not just re apply the product after a quick rinse & dry? Is that not recommended or possible with this one?

Just wondering since I never saw a need to do any scrubbing before re applying subsequent layers of TW Endura Coating and so far have to plans on doing any further prep before re applying the Mr. Cartoon Coating.

Yeah I'm not sure but I figured a regular tire cleaning would be good enough, we'll see soon

***ADS GHOST reapplication***

So today was the day, the day to spray, scrub, foam, rinse, dry and then mini Master Blaster dry the tires on the TAOS so they could be re-coated

I started with Gyeon Tire Cleaner, let dwell, scrubbed with my short brissel tire brush and rinsed away. Next, while doing a pre-wash on the TAOS, I foamed the tires with Labocosmetica Primus 2.0 as well, let dwell and rinsed away. After drying the car I took some Gyeon Tire Cleaner and sprayed my designated mf towel and swiped them, then let them air dry and finally busted out the mini Master Blaster air dryer for a completely dry and clean tire...LET'S DO THIS

I applied 2x's ADS Ghost, applying the 2nd coat after doing the first coat and repeating the order, so what you see in the last pic is the 2nd coat dried

It's going to be intetesting to see how this application does in the spring/summer season. I'm committed to doing nothing but drying the tires after a 2BM, driving home after a touch free wash or using left over RW to swipe the tires dry...same thing I did the first go around, stay "tuned"

Getting my summer tires installed tonight. Eager to get the tires prepped (with a solvent this time :p) and 2 coats of Ghost applied this week!

Man have lost a little sheen, which isn’t a bad thing. Still easy to clean with just rinseless.

Yes it does, curious about how long you'll go but the fresh look is alluring without a doubt

So this is 9 days later, different brightness outside as well as angle, this will be the angle I shoot them from during THIS process

What you see here is simply P&S Absolute RW, pre-treated early on and lastly, using a designated grout sponge for cleaning tires & wheels while doing a RW, a simple dunking, swiping and drying, that's it

Bronco as it sits after Feb 25 application…

Applied two coats to Navigator today…

Chappy, are you happy with the Bronco looks after that time? I'm also kind of surprised at the low gloss from two coats on the Navigator.

PS You were unable to get that grease pencil off the Bronco tire? That's going to be on there forever if it's underneath the Ghost.

I’ll probably get the ghost reapplied soon but I’ve got a coating and associated prep on the Navigator first. We’ll see on the Navigator application. I’m not going for super glossy anyway.

ETA: it was very overcast in the picture

I wonder if it's because of all those nubs on the side

Every tire is a little different and although prep is a big deal it shouldn't be that much of a problem

I only did one go on the tire cleaner this time. Between not wanting to scrub too much and mostly wanting to have it last through the wheel cleaning, I was being fairly half blanked on it.

I hear ya. These days I'm pretty much happy if a dressing/coating keeps the tires from turning brown before the next time I do something with them. The coatings I've used are the old TW black stuff and the OPT (actually I use the OPT Gelcoat Restorer, which is the same as the tire coating as far as I'm concerned). Two coats of either of them would be super glossy, which is why I was intrigued that the Ghost wasn't...of course that's the reason I bought Ghost, but I haven't used it yet.
