Mobile Van still in progress!

WhAt up Kris? Man... The van looks really good, glad to see things are really coming along for you.

I got a ? For you tho, how were you able to mount that piece of wood to the interior wall? I actually spent 2 hours today trying to figure this out on my van.

Please let me know what you used to get up there when you get a chance. This will literally make my rig Complete..

Thanks my man. Feed back please

Hey buddy. Well, I didn't actually mount the wood up there. I wondered that myself when I saw it up there. So I looked, and the previous owner literally screwed it right in. I wish he didn't, cause the screw tips actually pushed against the body and cause some little nubs on my paint.

If I were to do it. I would drill a hole through the wood, and through the first layer of sheet metal without penetrating the outer sheet. Then you could use some nuts and bolts to fasten it to the wall.

You could just screw it right in with self tapping screws...as long as you're careful of the length of the screw, unlike the previous owner of my van, ha.

I'm so close to being done my van. I just gotta put the lettering on the passenger side, and add my website to the drivers side. Install my water tank, which arrives on friday. Also put in my water pump. Plus I gotta put together the rear door lock and handle cause it was broken. But I already got all the pieces for that. I even had the new lock drilled to match my current key. Then it's just product, towels, pads, etc. :dblthumb2:

Yep, that's just what I was afraid of, possibly penetrating through the wall. I finished my day a lowes once again, picking up some self-tapping screws, but I nervous a heck b/c the shortest ones they had are still gonna be cutting it close. Oh well, I guess I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Anyhow, again I'm glad to see everything is falling into place with your rig. Shouldn't be long before your out and about....

Sorry fellas. Little crazy busy lately. Jamores...you'll love the Tornador, period, ha.

And Will, I never actually praised that Stanley PW. I only bought it cause it had good reviews. I've yet to actually use it. So if it blows up, or randomly catches fire....don't blame me! lol

Ah no worries man..if it blows up or catches fire...ill just sue hahaha. Ok just kiddin i dont have time for that..id just return the dumb thing and get a new one :)....it should be here next week..hopefully will work fine.

It won't be long for sure. I just hired a helper for around the shop today. Gonna have to train him a bit though.

If the screws are too long just add a washer or two. That should keep it away from the outer wall.

I'm sure it will work fine. Or else I'm suing everyone who reviewed it, ha.

Got my water tank!!!! Pretty excited about that.

I also setup the water pump. But, the problem is...I apparently bought a 12V water pump. I thought I could just add a power cord, and plug it into my generator. Not an option apparently, ha.

I actually like the way I am setting it up now better anyways. I'm directly wiring it to my battery, and I put an On/Off switch on it. That way it will have it's own independent power.

Some very cool pictures coming soon!!!:dblthumb2:

lol OOPS! You dont think it'll drain your battery, even though you have your on/off switch?

Can't wait for pix...i got my compressor yesterday :). Hey btw, how did you set up a link at the bottom of your signature to 'like me' on face book...i know how to change my signature, i just dont know how to link it directly to my fb page.

I started off this year with a 55 gallon tank and depending on the condition of the vehicles, I could wash 5-8 cars. I use a foam gun and two bucket wash method using approximately 8 gallons a car. It worked well until march, when I started getting calls to wash 10-15 a day.

Bottom line, if you have the room to go larger, do yourself a favor and go for it. Just my 2 cents....

I am also thinking in getting a 50 or 70 gallon tank. I don't need a bigger one for now. It all depends on your PW and your washing method.

It sounds to me 8 gallons of water a car is to much even a daily driver car you wash every once a week 8 gallons is still a lot IMO.

Wow 10-15a day ? What do you charge for just a wash and what all is included? About how long does it take you to do with your mobile set up and do you have any pictures of YOUR rig...id kinda like to see it too :)

Well, idk man... If you think about it. I always start with the wheels and tires first. I do have a designated bucket for this process also which is 5g of which I probably only use 2 gallons. Thorough rinse maybe 1-1.5 gallons. Foam cannon approx. 1 gallon. Two bucket wash, each filled with approximately 2-3gallons. And finish that with a thorough rinse, approximately 1-1.5 gallons.... Do the math it's all adds up. and heck its actually a little more than 8. This is my process that I've always used and has never let me or a customer down.

As far as the 10-15 washes, honestly I'm only that busy on Thursday's and Fridays. I try to designate those days to office buildings and our local hospitals and most of the time Im in one location all day. one setup-one pickup. Also these are the two days that I have someone helping me out. The process for each car takes about an hour. Interior Vac, wipe-down, windows and door jambs wipe-down. Exterior wash, windows, wheels/tires/and wells cleaned and dressed. And that's it! My prices start at $35, with an additional $5 for a quick shampoo of floor matts. I've been pumping this "mini detail" for about two years now and my customers seem to be very satisfied.

But, in all fairness, depending on the condition of the wheels and tires I'm dealing with, I can sometimes use the same batch if water to clean 2-3 vehicles..

I thought of that too. It's gonna have little clips that I can undo as well as the on/off switch. As long as I unclip it...It won't drain the battery even in the on position.

I honestly don't remember how I got the "Like me" thing in my signature. Pretty sure I just googled it.

Thanks for the info on the tank. Also does having a 50 gallon tank on/in your truck kill your gas mileage?
