Post Your Unpacking Pictures

A local store started carrying DIY Detail and was doing 15% off so I swung by to pick some items up (13.56 for the RW and 15.26 for incredible suds), along with Koch Chemie Motorplast, a CarPro Swipe applicator to dedicate to Griot's ceramic tire dressing and another EGO turbo clip (the first one is somewhere in the garage).

They had gallons of ONR that were missing labels for $25. Pretty sure that wasn't the new ONR as they seem to have dropped carrying Optimum from the store so I passed.

So wanted the Flex PXE 80 flex shaft but $299 seemed straight stupid since I paid $360 for the machine.

I know there are similar products but they are designed to hook up to a larger standard rotary polisher.

I’m my looking I came across Coatic. They make adapters that came with the flex shaft to fit The PXE and Ibrid.

Kit was 71 euros. Came with both adapters for both machines

Needed a 2” plate so why not add a 1” and 3” all in stainless. Vortex design is suppose to add more cooling.

From Coatic:

“The worlds first carbon fibre backing plate.

Vortex cooling technology provides an additional heat dissipation function, as well as upgraded performance, balance and precision.

Precision designed, engineered and manufactured in house using premium grade TorayCa Carbon Fibre providing up to 40% less heat conductivity compared to aluminium while our vortex cooling ducts will allow heat to dissipate safely out of the machine.”

All in all this cost me $300 all in including shipping from the UK. It was 250£ and last time I ordered from UK that would have been $200. Dolarchas gotten weaker and I didn’t check.

Still for the price of Flex’s PXE flex shaft I got the shaft, titanium and aluminum extension, 4 high end backing plates. Did I need all this…. No…. Am i excited for it…. Yup…

I have a cordless Dremel and it fits in my pocket. There backing pads are legit. I love my 2"Coatic

I bought one of these myself tonight. I took off the stock backing plate and it looks like the Flex mini backing plate will be a direct fit. I'm going to order one and see if it does actually fit once I get back from vacation in about two weeks.
Got my mini backing plate in today and it is indeed a direct fit

My new JIS screwdriver bits arrived. Ordered last night on Amazon, arrived this afternoon. I'd never heard of JIS till I was watching a car show the other day, they were restoring a 90s Supra, and the mechanic said working on Japanese cars requires JIS screwdrivers. They look the same as Phillips, but they're not. JIS fit both Phillips and JIS screws, but Phillips don't fit JIS properly, making it easy to strip them. I always wondered why my screwdrivers didn't quite fit the FJ, I just thought they were worn out. Now I don't know if this applies to all Japanese cars, and bikes, or just the ones manufactured in Japan, but you can tell by the little dot in the bottom of the JIS screws.

This past weekend I placed a $100+ order on another website. 12 or so items including at least 2 gallons of concentrate… Apparently it’s shipping in more than 1 box because today I received this.

IME, these bones detail stix are pretty useful. wrap a microfiber towel around it and use it to clean inside the wheels where the lug nuts are. so many other uses as well. i use one every time i wash the car...

Yea keep em coming. Trying to get as many ideas as possible.

-My 1st thought was wrapping a towel around it and using it to get to that thin spot that’s hard to get to when you pull the steering wheel down just beneath the instrument cluster. That spot can be impossible in some cars.

-Another spot is inside of the seat belt latch. Those can be grimey and hard to get to sometimes.

-Weatherstripping.

-Exterior mirrors

Force pads for the Cbeast. Not sure if best choice for flex but figure It would be good for rotary mode.

2 products I feel I needed to try. Angel Wax H2gO and Koch Chemie FSE. Figured FSE would be good for drying aid for water spots… read nothing but good in H2GO so chose it over quick view.
