The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

I come back after almost 2 months and this thread I started is still at the top of the page?! Lol, I didn't expect to see that. Anyway I did end up buying a Flex 3401. The machine itself is a true pleasure to use. There is very little vibration (and I was using a Cyclo before this which had...

    Rinseless Washing

I'm lucky that my driveway and hose faces south and with the intense Colorado winter sun I can and usually do wash my car outside all winter. This winter has been the exception though. It also helps that I almost have a high pressure wash courtesy of the city. My pressure reading taken at the...

    Rinseless Washing

I just tried ONR for the first time last week. I'm not sure I'll be doing many washes in the driveway anymore! Ok, maybe when it's 85F out. I used it on my wife's black car that was caked in winter road grime and salt. 1 bucket with no pre-soak or rinse bucket. I simply followed the...

    Complain/warning from Home Owner Association

Amen to this! Moving into a neighborhood with an HOA is just doing nothing more than letting a lot of busybodies tell you how you should live. It's funny, I live in an older neighborhood without a HOA and my good friend lives in a brand new one with an HOA. He's president of the HOA actually...

Review-FLEX XC 3401 Dual Action Orbital Polisher

O.C., I just wanted to thank you once again for all of your input on my other thread.:xyxthumbs: You had me pretty sure I was going for the Griot's until I read this review comparing the vibration of the machines. This is a big issue for me as I said above because of my upper back muscles. I...

Review-FLEX XC 3401 Dual Action Orbital Polisher

This review has helped me to make my final decision. In the end it's actually going to come down to the Flex having less vibration. I'm used to using a Cyclo which was really nice as the vibrations were kept to a minimum. I could do an entire car and my shoulder's wouldn't be sore that night...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

Adrock...err I mean O.C., I've read this post a few times just to be sure what I'm reading is right but from what I can see, you say the GG is at least as good as the Flex? I'll admit it, when I started this thread I was expecting a bunch of "You're a moron kbohip, the Flex 3401 is a far...

What a Cyclo can do to a Delorean.

Just sold my Cyclo on Ebay. I'm having mixed emotions as it was as perfect of a machine as a machine could be imo. At least in the build quality and reliability department. I just wanted to try something with more power though so I'll be picking up a Griot's 6" ROP. This coupled with my...

Microfiber Drying Towels - Best and Boiling Towels

Boiling towels? Seriously? I'll use a bath towel for a year then it gets used for my car. I obviously need to read up though, as I didn't know they even made a microfiber towel that you could dry with.

    Looking at Dewalt DW849

I don't mind you critiquing my work one bit, and I can definitely see where you're coming from. I am the newest of newbies when it comes to working with the rotary, although I've used a machine polisher (Cyclo) for years so I'm not finding the rotary to be a huge challenge yet. It definitely...

    Looking at Dewalt DW849

I'll have to take a look in the sun to see if I have any swirls. I plan on going over it again anyway when I get the new GG. For my car I'll probably not use the rotary on it. The paint is corrected good enough for me with the Cyclo. It's silver though so who cares anyway.;)

    Looking at Dewalt DW849

I found a used Dewalt 849 off Craigslist a few weeks back for $75. I "learned" how to use it on my wife's old '91 Maxima. It needs a new paint job anyway so wth. Well after the rotary, it no longer needs a new paint job! Sure all the deep scratches and rock chips are still there (and there...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

I have no problem with Richard, it's been my experience that the items he sells are usually well tested and of great quality, but when I see a video on his site claiming that no one should ever use a rotary no matter their experience level and that Cyclo's are good for nothing but jumbo jets my...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

But I thought the GG was definitely better than the PC. Ah, here we go again! Then again at least Griot wouldn't be getting the cash. Alright 07 Z0, after reading your thread in which you asked the same question I'm asking now, ie which has more power and is therefore (imo) the better...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

I've been digesting this post for the last couple of days and I just can't think of a way to disprove you. The Dewalt has worked miracles on the old '91 Maxima, taking the paint back to a point I never thought I'd see again. Having the rotary really sort of makes the Flex redundant. Most cars...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

I'm guessing it helps the machine to correct faster. Although I thought that was what the 480 rpm's at it's top speed were for. Maybe they need the wider orbit to prevent swirl marks because of the forced rotation?

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

Man, I never thought this would be this hard of a decision! I figured the Flex was the one to get, but now I'm starting to think I should just save the money and go with the GG. Since I have the rotary now, I can use that for the heavy stuff and use the GG for everything else, including the...
