Mobile Van still in progress!

You answered everything except where you got the tent from and if you have curtains for it or not...ive gotta get one pretty soon...lotta people out here have garages but ive got a couple jobs coming up that i could use some shade :)

I got them on Amazon and just got the cheaper deal. I'm pretty sure they came from Sears. Cause I remember signing up for something just to get free shipping through Sears.

Do they sell curtains for them?? If they do, I want some.

I dont know about the sears one...but ive seen some at places like Sports Authority and ebay that sell attachable side curtains...might want to look there...so is yours pretty easy to set up (quick i mean) and does it seem pretty durable so far

I can't really speak for it's ease of use or durability. But, what I can tell you...is that I researched tents like crazy before buying. And these ones had rave reviews for ease of use and durability. I just can't speak from experience. Haven't use the mobile unit yet.

I'm gonna check that out. I was wondering about the curtain thing. I'm sure I could find one that just attaches with velcro or something.

Can you give me the brand name so i can check them out? Or even a link to the one on amazon you bought.

This is the canopy although the price is WAY higher now than when I purchased mine. I bought two of them for around $150. But, that was in like December. So there was probably a Christmas/winter clearance on them. Don't know why the price has sky rocketed. But this is it. E-Z Up Regency 12x12 Canopy - SportsAuthority.com

I would look for a better price. I didn't dig too much cause I gotta get back to work. Good luck buddy!:dblthumb2:

I got a 12x12 (at least I think it is) at BJ's for $99. It's pretty heavy duty and comes in a case that has wheels on it so it's easily transported around. It's a little bit of work to get it up by yourself but not too bad and works well. I just checked out the BJ's website and apparently they don't sell the model I have anymore. I got it last spring. And looks like their prices are through the roof too.

I have a Ford F250 Van w/300gal water tank. IMO it does not seem very professional to have to use the clients water and electricity. I do about 4-6 details over the weekend along with 25-40 washes. I don't know which suspension truck you have, but if it's equal to a F250, that's plenty. Since I do a lot of washing as well, I need to go with a heavy duty electric pressure washer, Northern Tools has some really good ones. My truck is completely electric, battery bank with a 5000 watt inverter, don't have to worry about gas, noise and keeping that generator running the whole time I'm buffing out a car.

Ya thats what i kept running into is onees for about $150 or so...thats why i was like WOW when i heard you got one for around $75 lol...guess ill keep my eyes open for sales...thanks though for the link :)

Oh crap! haha, didn't bother to look at that. Apparently there's nothing out there!

No worries..im totally jacking your thread at this point..ill wait for some sort of big holiday sale...i bet fathers day will have some good deals and its not too far around the corner..

so im gettin a steamer (cheaper one but should help a lot), a work platform to sit on while buffing and stand on for SUVs, hope to get an air compressor..ryobi one looks good for $120...and then stockin up on some chemicals that im low on...now i just wish some more work would start comin this way!

Well, I finally started to get some work done with the interior of the van a little bit today. I at least got the generator out of the box, assembled, oiled, gassed up, and running.

I bought it months ago...but I was really eager to start it up and test it out. After realizing I'm an idiot and didn't put enough oil into the generator (didn't know it needed 20 oz.)...I was able to get it started up.

Just a little tip for everyone when they buy a new generator...if there isn't a particular amount of oil, it won't stay running. Found that out the hard way today, haha.

Anyways, I have an ETQ 4000 watt generator. It's advertised as being really quiet (like the Honda EU models). I didn't really believe the description...didn't want to get my hopes up. Once it was fired up though...I was surprised how quiet it actually is.

At first I didn't think it was that quiet...and I was discussing it with my Pepere who was right next to me as we stood next to the generator having a full blown conversation. Then I realized the obvious...If we can sit there and have a conversation, then the fricken thing is pretty quiet, ha.

Next I tested it with some equipment. It ran the extractor, and Rigid wet/dry vac no problem. Also ran the extractor and my Makita at the same time with no issues. Also passed the pressure washer test. So, this generator has a thumbs up so far! It also has a pull start...but is a piece of cake to turn over. Starts right up. :dblthumb2:

Pics of what...my generator running? ha. All that's in my van is a generator. Doesn't make a very exciting picture. Just wanted to share my generator experience.

Don't worry, the pics will come.

Oh you guys haven't seen the outside yet?? I posted it a while back. The interior isn't done at all yet. I actually emptied out today and all that's in there is a generator. I could have swore I posted pics of the van exterior work at least.

SO MUCH has been done to the outside since I bought it. Here's a before and after just to give you an idea.

It's getting there. I've been working on it all winter. It was a lot more work than I originally thought. I've had my hands full all winter, and still do with this damn thing, ha. It's almost done though.

I think it will be a great addition bro - even if you only make an extra 100 a day..... that is a chunk at the end of the month :dblthumb2:
