What size pads/BP are you using? When I first got my PC I was using a 4in BP with 4in Pad and it was real hard to control. When I switched to 5in BP with 5.5in Pad it was much more pleasant to use.

Dont mean to hijack, but the hydro-tech says they are designed for Water-based polishes... are most/all polishes/compounds water based?

I tried 4in pads that came with my PC kit, but I found them really hard to control, then when I took off the BP to switch to my 5in I saw that under the BP on the PC it said "only to be used with 5in backing plate" Is this the "counter weight" are there other ones to use?

So was there ever a ruling on whether CQuartz could be used with colorchip?

Thanks for the info and encouragement, I had a 5in backing plate and I just got cyan, orange, white and red 5.5in pads.

Alright, attempt number 2 tomorrow, and I did use some Megs UP on the trunk lid and it cleaned up those marks left by the compound so im not too nervous :-)
